Products & Solutions Amundi and ICG launch first jointly developed Evergreen Private Equity Secondaries strategy

Following the announcement of their partnership aimed at expanding wealth investors’ access to differentiated private market solutions, Amundi and ICG today announce the launch of their first jointly-developed institutional quality product designed specifically for the wealth market: Amundi ICG Global Private Equity Secondaries.

The fund is structured in an evergreen format and will give investors access to ICG’s  private equity LP secondaries strategy, providing access to a portfolio of highly diversified private companies across North America and Europe. The Fund has already completed its first investment, establishing the portfolio with high-quality, high-growth assets across the United States and Europe.

The fund is designed to meet several key needs of wealth investors:

  • Exposure to existing private equity portfolios, rather than requiring investors to wait for capital to be deployed over time.
  • Focus on established market leading unlisted companies, offering greater visibility on cash flows, while seeking attractive long-term return potential.
  • Capture the illiquidity premium available in private markets, in addition to offering diversification benefits for certain individuals’ existing investment portfolios.
  • Access to ICG’s deal flow of LP secondary interests, including compelling opportunities that have historically been beyond the reach of wealth investors.
  • Ability to make monthly subscriptions and the potential for quarterly redemptions, subject to certain important limitations.

The launch comes at a time when the private equity secondaries market is benefiting from supportive market dynamics. LP secondaries allow wealth investors to gain exposure to established buyout funds through the acquisition of interests from existing private equity investors. In 2025, LP-led transactions reached a record size of €107 billion, representing average annual growth of  15%  over the past decade. In this context, private equity secondaries offer investors access to growing private companies, generating the potential for attractive returns and improved cash flow predictability.

The product combines ICG's long-standing expertise in private equity secondaries, supported by its investment platform, underwriting discipline and market access, with Amundi's structuring capabilities, knowledge of individual investors’ needs, and broad distribution reach. This illustrates how the partnership between Amundi and ICG can deliver solutions that address the evolving needs of wealth clients, especially to improve diversification and planning for retirement.

Oliver Gardey and Ryan Levitt, Co-Portfolio Managers of Amundi ICG Global Private Equity Secondaries, at ICG, commented: “We are delighted to launch this fund, which offers wealth investors access to ICG’s LP secondaries institutional quality investment strategy. We believe this product has a meaningful role to play in certain individuals’ portfolios, providing immediate exposure to a highly diversified set of market leading private equity-owned businesses in the US and Europe.”

Vincent Mortier, Chief Investment Officer at Amundi, commented: “The launch of this joint fund marks an important step in the Amundi-ICG partnership. It reflects the strength of our collaboration and our shared ambition to deliver tailored and differentiated private markets solutions that address the evolving needs of wealth clients.”
